Consultation Process

In October 2017, we established a School Travel Planning Group, representative of all stakeholders – pupils, parents and staff – with the aim of developing and promoting the School Travel Plan (STP). The STP is a summary of activities that promote and continually improve safe travel to and from school.

In December 2017/January 2018, all Parents and Carers were asked for their views regarding safe travel to and from school. A wide range of data was analysed and the following reports are available for download:

Findings of Parent/Carer Questionnaire - Travel to and from School

Appendix A: Further comments from Parents/Carers

Appendix B: Parent/Carer comments - unsafe areas of School travel routes

Appendix C: Parent/Carer comments - suggestions to make journeys easier or safer

In November 2017, five Primary classes - representative of P4 to P7 pupils - took part in group exercises to plot their school travel route on a map and identify areas along the way that they perceived were hazardous points. Findings are as follows:

Bus Routes

Car Routes

Walk/Scooter Routes
