Partnership with Parents - Reporting 2016/17

Assessment

This year we have been given the opportunity to pilot a new approach to reporting to parents. As a school we are committed to developing partnership with parents and having regular communication about the progress and achievements of your child/children. We feel that the traditional end of year report does not do this adequately.

This year we are trying a more effective means of reporting that emphasises engagement with teachers, parents and children. To do this we are increasing the number of informed conversations between learners, teachers and parents to three parent’s evenings throughout the year. Prior to these meetings there will be the opportunity for you to visit your child/children’s class to see what they have been learning. There will be pupil progress report which will then form the basis of the discussion at the parents evening.

Your child will have their own Achievement Log which will contain an overview of learning, assessments of each term, examples of work and personal achievements.

We will no longer be sending home an end of year summary report. Instead you will receive all of the information from the Achievement Log that your child has gathered and the assessments will highlight the progress throughout the year.
