S1 and S2

Pupils follow an integrated engineering, design and manufacture course which teaches aspects of Graphic Communication, Craft, Design and Technology and how engineering and technology influences our everyday lives.  The course is designed to link with the technology taught in Primary and discrete courses taught in S3 onwards.

S3 and S4

Pupils can study,

  • Graphic Communication
  • Design and Manufacture
  • Engineering Science
  • Skills for Work (SfW) - Construction

Selection to study single courses occurs at the end of S2 with Graphic Communication, Design & Manufacture and Engineering Science being offered. At the end of S3 pupils will embark on courses at Access, National 4 or National 5.

S5 and S6

Courses are offered at Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher in,

  • Graphic Communication
  • Product Design
  • Technological Studies
  • Practical Craft Skills

Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning with Personal Learning Plans.

Our present courses are continually being reviewed to ensure;

  • there is a coordinated and collaborative approach with other departments and sectors of the school.

  • topics are relevant and up to date

  • every pupil fulfils his or her potential by gaining good national qualifications. 

  • pupils learn in a fun and exciting environment.
